Post Surgical Treatment
For some patients surgery is the only option to help with pain. While some patients
respond well to surgery others do not. If you are a patient who has had back surgery; a
spinal fusion, laminectomy, disc replacement, or even harrington rods, and is
experiencing discomfort in most cases chiropractic care can help.
After completing my Doctorate at National Chiropractic College I spent time at The
Texas Back Institute working with many post surgical patients. Some of these patients
were pain free for years after surgery and then began experiencing pain again. Others
didn’t get relief from surgery and were looking for alternatives. Whatever the case may
be, I have much to offer in treating these often difficult cases with the use of Chiropractic
care.
An extensive history and exam must be done along with several x-rays to ensure that the
surgical hardware in the spine has not moved or become unstable. Most post surgical
patients can be manually adjusted 3 months post surgery. X-rays are always done to
ensure that the hardware is stable before treatment begins.
